About Us

The Lilac Tree is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Evanston, IL serving individuals and families in Illinois for over 32 years.  

We offer our programs for people regardless of socioeconomic status, education, ethnicity, geography, native language, gender identity or sexual orientation. We serve all people.

Through our five branches, we offer education, support and resource options for those facing separation and/or divorce: Personalized Information Sessions, Webinars and Workshops, Divorce University™ , Support Groups, Access to Resources and Referrals.

The Lilac Tree History

In 1990, two local women and a group of divorce professionals founded The Lilac Tree to offer women the necessary access to the support needed around divorce and separation. Today, The Lilac Tree serves over 2,000 separating and divorcing women per year.
