is a resource and a haven for women contemplating
divorce, in the process or post-decree. Our mission is to provide education,
support and guidance to women in the divorce process, so that they can move
confidently towards independence. We believe the more
information and support women have as they move through this difficult
process, the better the decisions they'll make for themselves and their
children, and the more hopeful they can be about the future.
We offer help four ways:
- Individual Information Sessions for women at the beginning of the
process, to help them assess their options and learn what to expect
legally, financially and emotionally.
- Divorce Workshops and Seminars including evening and weekend sessions
in Chicago and the north and northwest suburbs, and our semi-annual
Divorce University. Topics include what to expect in the divorce process,
the role of attorneys, mediators and financial planners, what women need
to know about finances, helping children through divorce, co-parenting,
infidelity, making career transitions, reducing stress and more.

- Divorce Support Groups, led by a therapist, meet during the day or
evening to help women deal with issues such as the emotions of divorce, isolation, parenting and ways of
moving on.

- Free Referrals to professionals in our registry, including
divorce attorneys who specialize in women's issues, divorce mediators,
collaborative attorneys,
financial and divorce planners, therapists who concentrate their
practice on divorce issues for women, children and families, career counselors and social service
agencies.
Our services range in price from no charge to very modest fees. Partial scholarship
assistance is available. Today, we are unique in Evanston and the surrounding Chicago area. We know of no other organization in the country that addresses the breadth of issues women face
in divorce. Tell friends, family, acquaintances and those who work with
women about this resource.
